San Francisco city leaders said Tuesday they would continue law enforcement strategies that they say have significantly reduced retail theft over the past year.
At a press conference, Mayor Daniel Lurie and others credited the drop in numbers to strategies that included a summertime blitz operation that saw a Police Department task force partner with retailers to conduct in-store operations and push to address the reselling of merchandise on the street, as well as the continued aggressive prosecutions of retail theft.
