Fifteen people accused of shoplifting retail merchandise worth tens of thousands of dollars were have been charged with various theft-related offenses by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

The charges came Monday after two separate operations by the San Francisco Police Department in early August that involved coordination with large retailers and local businesses to catch shoplifters, the District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
