Donors turn up for bike turnouts; campaign to build them on Mount Diablo exceeds goal

It wasn't such an uphill battle after all. A fundraising campaign to collect $750,000 toward the construction of bicycle turnout lanes on Mount Diablo has surpassed its goal. The California State Parks Foundation announced its Mount Diablo Bike Turnout campaign has raised $755,090, exceeding its goal of $750,000.

California State Parks, California State Parks Foundation, and Mount Diablo Cyclists are partnering to build the second phase of a plan to create bike safety turnouts at Mount Diablo State Park.
