The Monterey County Government Center in Salinas that has been shut down for two weeks due to a sewer line malfunction is set to reopen as soon as early next week, the county said Thursday.
The county announced the center’s closure on Sept. 3 after an extensive sewer line malfunction occurred that mostly affected the building’s first floor, which contains customer service for several departments. The closure was needed to allow cleanup and remediation work and ensure the safety of employees and the public, the county said.
