U.S. Rep. Jimmy Panetta announced Thursday that more than $3.1 million in federal funding will go toward infrastructure improvements at Monterey Regional Airport and Marina Municipal Airport.

The $3,144,720 in grants comes from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Infrastructure Grants program, established through the bipartisan infrastructure law, according to Rep. Panetta’s office.
