Monterey Regional Airport is receiving $2.3 million in federal funding for its new passenger terminal.
U.S. Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Monterey, announced Tuesday that the Federal Aviation Administration awarded $2,368,257 through its Airport Improvement Program — a grant program that helps fund the planning and development of public-use airports. Panetta’s office said the money will pay for inspections by the terminal’s design team during construction.
