The City of Richmond has received a $700,000 grant from the California Department of Transportation to advance planning and conceptual design for a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that would close a key gap in the Richmond Greenway.

Announced June 30, the funding will support the next phase of the Richmond Greenway Gap Closure Project, including preliminary engineering, environmental preparation and community engagement, city officials said.
