A parade, festival and fireworks are to be expected in downtown Stockton next week in celebration of the Fourth of July.

City officials said the parade hosted by the United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the corner of Weber Avenue and El Dorado Street.

A 10-hour festival held at the Weber Point Events Center will follow the parade and at 9:30 p.m., attendees will get to see a firework show on the downtown waterfront.

The event, which will feature special performances from Latin Magic Band, Flat Busted, and Brandon Leake, will be free for the public.

Leake was the season 15 winner of the reality TV show “America’s Got Talent” and is a Stockton native who debuted on the show in 2020. He was the first and only spoken word poet to win the competition.

During the festival, people can expect food trucks, artisanal vendors, activities for kids, and other entertainment, according to city officials.

Hard-top coolers, alcohol, glass containers, bottles, personal fireworks, and pets will not be allowed at the parade to ensure a safe environment.
