Fire crews continue to make progress on a pair of tenacious wildland conflagrations burning in Monterey County, authorities said Friday.
The Plaskett Fire has been burning since Aug. 26 and was listed at 29,924 acres and 79% contained. The fire has been burning in the steep, rugged wilderness terrain of the Los Padres National Forest near Big Sur.
