Aging equipment and extreme heat helped spark a fire at a BART substation Tuesday night, the effects of which continue to plague the system, a top agency manager said Thursday.
BART’s Assistant General Manager of Operations Sylvia Lamb told the transit agency’s board of directors at their regular meeting that the fire started after an HVAC unit in a substation room failed.
