The Mines Fire burning in Santa Clara County which has scorched 283 acres is at 25% containment, Cal Fire said Monday evening.

The fire, which was first reported just after 2 p.m. On Sunday, has now burned 283 acres as of Monday at 5 p.m. After better mapping was used to bring the acreage up from 172 acres previously reported.
