Deputies are investigating a series of copper wire thefts from telecommunications lines across parts of west Sonoma County that have disrupted phone and internet service for residents.

In a statement Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies working in multiple areas, including Petaluma, Windsor, Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville and Freestone, have received multiple reports of copper wiring being stolen from utility poles owned by AT&T since February.
