Amid the uncertainty of funding that will be available to food programs in the country as well as in Mendocino County, the Little Lake Grange in Willits will be holding an “emergency town hall” meeting Saturday about local food security and to answer questions from community members.

Local organizations, county representatives and other community members at the meeting will discuss the resources available in Mendocino County for families experiencing food insecurity.
The event is sponsored by the Little Lake Grange and the National Grange Rural Life Initiative. The event flier reads, “Come to ask questions, find out what is happening locally to feed our community in these uncertain times!”
Organizations and county representatives speaking at the event will include Supervisor John Haschak, the nonprofit Nuestra Alianza de Willits, Willits Daily Bread, Food Not Bombs, and many others.
The emergency town hall will be held at the Little Lake Grange at 291 School St. in Willits and will begin at 11 a.m. A food bank collection bin will be available for community members who would like to donate to local food banks.
