Solano County Sheriff Thomas Ferrara on Thursday announced that he will be retiring in the fall.

“After serving as a California peace officer since August 8th, 1983, forty-two years, I intend to retire September 25, 2025,” said Ferrara on Facebook. “I have decided to retire simply because it is the right time for me.”
