Vallejo leaders will discuss a “pattern of questionable behavior” by Mayor Andrea Sorce at next week’s City Council meeting, according to the agenda.

At their regular Tuesday meeting, the council will publicly review a resolution to condemn Sorce’s conduct, which includes “use of her position in an attempt to improperly influence decisions of City staff,” according to a staff report.

Vallejo’s mayor holds the same voting power as each of the six City Council members, according to the city charter. The resolution to be discussed Tuesday states that no council member may “attempt to coerce or influence the city manager in respect to any contract or purchase of supplies.”

Following the presentation, the City Council will decide whether to adopt the draft resolution as is, adopt a modified draft resolution or take no action.

City Council members did not respond to requests for comment. Sorce declined to comment on the condemnation, saying only that she will have a statement prepared to deliver prior to or during the meeting.

Sorce was elected mayor in 2024 and is a professor of economics at Diablo Valley College. Her term ends in January 2029.
