Stephanie Williams-Rogers and Tammy Zickuhr appear poised to take up two Brentwood City Council seats, according to early results from Tuesday’s election.

Williams-Rogers captured 54.89% of the vote for the District 4 seat, pulling ahead of her competitors, Holley Bishop-Mello and Sheree Shannon, who came away with 34.07% and 11.04%, respectively.

“I’m feeling grateful and encouraged by the early results,” said Williams-Rogers, a health care professional. “This campaign has been about listening to residents, earning their trust, and building a shared vision for Brentwood’s future.”

Williams-Rogers said her focus would be on protecting Brentwood’s quality of life, strengthening the local economy, and ensuring residents have a voice in the decisions that impact the community.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to bring a fresh perspective and get things done for Brentwood,” she said.

In District 2, Zickuhr, a local business owner, held the lead with 43.17% of the vote over opponents Kris Brand, an outgoing Brentwood planning commissioner, and Vinoy Mereddy, a software engineer who serves on two countywide boards. Brand held 34.23% of the vote as of Tuesday and Mereddy had 22.6%.

Zickuhr was unavailable to comment on election night, but her candidate statement identified her priorities as “strengthening public safety, supporting (Brentwood’s) agricultural heritage and local businesses, and ensuring responsible, well-planned growth.”

The Contra Costa County Registrar of Voters is expected to release another update Friday at 5 p.m.
