Caltrans announced Tuesday it will continue closing the northbound U.S. Highway 101 connector ramp to northbound state Highway 1 in Mill Valley when high tides cause flooding.

The ramp has experienced more frequent closures this fall, most recently on Thursday and Friday.

The lower half of the Manzanita Park and Ride lot will also remain closed because of flooding. Parking along the state Highway 1 shoulder could be affected during high-tide events, which are expected in November. The next king tide period is Nov. 22 to 28, followed by Dec. 20 to 27, Jan. 18 to 24 and Feb. 16 to 22.

Caltrans advises motorists to check real-time traffic conditions at QuickMap.dot.ca.gov or 511.org.

Officials warned that flooding could occur throughout fall and winter because of higher tides and El Niño storm conditions. To learn how to prepare, visit readymarin.marincounty.gov.
