Contra Costa County and the cities of Richmond and Benicia are sharing in $65 million from the Bay Area Air District’s fines on industrial air quality violators.
The penalty funds will go toward projects that will reduce air pollution, improve public health, expand clean energy, support the local economy and strengthen community resilience, the district said Friday.
