Seven candidates running in the upcoming Berkeley City Council elections denounced the use of mass surveillance technology, including automated license plate reader cameras, at a press conference held Tuesday on the steps of City Hall.
The candidates were District 1 contenders Daria Wrubel and Moni Gangopadhyay, District 4 contender Majdi Gaith Abuhamdieh, District 7 contenders Aidan Hill and Syrak Micael, and District 8 contenders Michael Wallman and Mari Mendonca.
