Thousands of fans lined the streets to celebrate ‘El Clasico de México’ near the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday, when two Liga MX top teams, Guadalajara Chivas and Club America, came to play against each other.

Both teams have large fan bases and there has been an intense rivalry between the two teams since the formation of Mexico’s own professional soccer league, Liga MX, in the late 1940s. Sunday’s match was the first time since 1997 that the two teams faced each other at the Oakland Coliseum. Club America lost to Guadalajara Chivas 3-2 in that game.
