A fire that engulfed a Vallejo police cruiser on Interstate Highway 80 was caused by an electrical failure, police said Friday.
An officer was driving the Ford SUV Thursday afternoon near the Abernathy Road exit in Fairfield when smoke and flames appeared from the back, police said. The fire spread to road flares in the car, which ignited.
