The San Francisco Fire Department released a photo of baby Cielle Ray, who was delivered in Golden Gate Park on Saturday after her family was delayed getting to the hospital due to heavy traffic.
About 4:30 p.m., traffic congestion forced the family to pull over on the shoulder near Crossover Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the park, fire officials said.
They called 911, but American Medical Response paramedics were also delayed by traffic and had to run about two blocks, reaching the family just in time to deliver a healthy baby girl.
Fire department paramedics also arrived and helped care for the mother and child, who were transported to a hospital in good condition.
