A 34-foot La Catrina sculpture is set to arrive Tuesday in Oakland’s Fruitvale district, where it will be installed ahead of the Unity Council’s 31st annual Día de los Muertos celebration.
A trailer truck carrying the sculpture is expected to arrive at 8 a.m. at Fruitvale Transit Village, 3411 E. 12th St. Installation will begin after the sculpture arrives.
The sculpture is expected to become the tallest Catrina in the United States when it is featured at the Nov. 1 celebration, officials said.
