The East Bay SPCA has taken in five dogs from Lakeport to help free up space at Lake County Animal Care & Control following the Lucas Fire.
East Bay SPCA staff made a six-hour round trip Tuesday to transport the dogs, the organization said. The animals, Xena, Sandy, Dalton, Pugsley and Hammy, were already in the Lake County shelter and were not displaced by the fire.
