Nicholas Gracia, a 25-year veteran, has been named the fire chief of Daly City and of the North County Fire Authority protecting Brisbane, Daly City and Pacifica.
Gracia’s selection was announced Thursday by Thomas Piccolotti, city manager of Daly City, which managed a nationwide search.
Gracia succeeds Ron D. Myers, who led the Fire Authority since it was formed in 2003 through a Joint powers authority agreement between the three cities.
Gracia, who was raised in Daly City, has been an employee of the Daly City Fire Department for 25 years and rose through the ranks, according to a city announcement.
