The Monterey County Government Center in Salinas will remain closed until further notice following a sewer line malfunction last week, county officials said Tuesday.
Services provided by the Government Center at 168 West Alisal St. will continue with some relocations.
— Treasurer-Tax Collector visitors should follow posted signs at the Government Center for information on the current service location.
— The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and Assessor-Clerk-Recorder’s Office will have staff in Conference Room E-118, next to Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren’s office, in the East Wing at 142 W. Alisal St. on the first floor.
— The Public Defender’s Office will continue helping the public by phone at 831-755-5058 and in person at the Law Library at 142 W. Alisal St., Suite E-107. Staff will be available from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
— The Auditor-Controller’s Office is working remotely, with limited in-person Accounts Payable and Payroll services available at the county’s Information Technology Department at 1590 Moffett St.
— The District 1 Supervisor’s Office is working remotely, while the District 2 office is working from its Castroville office and the District 3 office is working from its King City office.
The county has not provided a reopening date for the Government Center.
County officials previously said the closure, which was supposed to end Tuesday, was needed to allow cleanup and remediation work and ensure the safety of employees and the public.
