A 23-year-old San Mateo man was arrested Wednesday after police said he entered the backyard and shed of a private residence and attempted to gain entry to the home.
San Mateo police responded about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Highland Avenue after receiving a report of a suspicious person.
