The Plaskett Fire in Monterey County has grown to 2,774 acres as crews prepare for increasing activity amid drier weather and a continued threat of thunderstorms, Cal Fire said Friday morning.
The fire’s activity was limited overnight, but firefighters continued using heavy helicopters for suppression and targeted structure protection, Cal Fire said in an update around 7:30 a.m. Fire officials said air tankers could be limited because of high demand nationwide.
