A promise to my father: Fulfilling a childhood vow creates new roads for family overseas

WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD, my family moved to Hyderabad. My parents wanted my sister and me to have access to a better education and a better standard of living, even if creating those opportunities meant making sacrifices of their own.

My father spent nearly 35 years as a state transport bus driver, beginning with APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation) and later serving with TSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) after the formation of Telangana.
