A false report of a shooting and an explosive device at a Petaluma home prompted a police response Friday night before officers determined the emergency was false, police said.
The Petaluma Police Department received information about a potentially armed person at a residence near Danby Court at 7:09 p.m. The report came through a third-party crisis service that was talking by phone with a man who claimed he was inside the home.
