Four people were displaced Tuesday after a kitchen fire damaged an apartment in a five-unit San Rafael building in the Canal neighborhood, according to the city’s Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 1:07 p.m. Tuesday to the building at 16 Elaine Way after receiving a report of a residential structure fire. Crews arrived to find the kitchen of an apartment in flames.
