The San Francisco Unified School District is opening a school in the Mission Bay neighborhood on a parcel earmarked since 1998 in plans to redevelop a former railyard and industrial area.
The $95 million school at 1415 Owens St., near the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, will open for prekindergarten, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students Aug. 17.
