State Sen. Dave Cortese is pushing legislation that would establish dedicated state funding for wildlife connectivity projects, citing a major Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority project as an example of the infrastructure the bill could support.

Cortese, the author of Senate Bill 1250, was scheduled to discuss the legislation Friday at Lexington Reservoir alongside VTA General Manager Carolyn Gonot.
