Five people and one child were displaced Thursday due to a house fire in Santa Rosa, according to the Fire Department.

A call came in reporting a house fire at 958 Kingwood St. just before 3 p.m.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire billowing from both floors of a two-story, single-family residence. A search of the house revealed that everyone had gotten out safely before the Fire Department arrived, officials said. All six residents were home at the time and said they heard explosions coming from the backyard before the fire.
