More than 2,000 Contra Costa County workers are set to strike Aug. 19 if a new contract cannot be agreed upon, their union announced Friday.

The union workers include more than 250 different county classifications, including those in health services, maintenance and licensed vocational nursing. They are all represented by the Contra Costa County Teamsters, which is affiliated with the 1.3 million-member International Brotherhood of Teamsters union.
