Cleanup crews will begin removing radioactive material this week from a building at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco after it was discovered in a storage locker in April.

Members from the Hunters Point and Bayview community came together Monday for a Hunters Point Shipyard Citizens Advisory Committee Environmental & Reuse Subcommittee meeting to discuss the upcoming removal of the radioactive material and provide general updates on the current state of the Hunters Point Superfund site.
