A federal jury has convicted a CEO from Florida of conspiring to defraud Medicare through a Hayward home health agency, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California said.

Simon Katz, 43, of Boca Raton, was found guilty Wednesday of conspiracy to commit health care fraud following a six-day trial in U.S. District Court in San Francisco. Federal prosecutors said Katz conspired with his wife, Veronica Katz, the former CEO of HealthNow Home Healthcare in Hayward, and two former employees to defraud Medicare.
