THROUGHOUT THE DAY, as she stops to catch her breath while caring for her husband of 46 years, Jeanie Schram wishes there were a hotline she could call to hear a comforting voice.


“I love my husband very much, but it would be nice to pick up the phone and talk to someone who would understand the loneliness and frustration of a caregiver who is taking care of a loved one with dementia,” Schram said. “Someone I wouldn’t have to explain myself to.”
