The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office is warning residents and businesses to be on alert for several fraud schemes circulating in the county, including fake government invoices, scams involving supposedly compromised bank accounts, and home title fraud.

District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni said Friday that public tips are often critical in stopping fraud and urged anyone who receives suspicious payment requests or property-related documents to verify them independently before taking action.
