A former San Francisco County Sheriff’s deputy was charged with sexually assaulting a transgender woman in one of the downtown San Francisco jails, prosecutors said Friday.
Damon Jones, 34, was accused of engaging in sexual activity with a confined adult while acting as a peace officer employed in a public detention facility and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office said. Both are felonies.
