An anti-labor trafficking and wage theft bill sponsored by the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office and introduced by a local lawmaker has been signed into law.
Assembly Bill 1583 will provide California prosecutors with clarity on which counties have jurisdiction in cases of wage theft and labor trafficking, and it will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
