A 64-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl in Cloverdale 44 years ago, Sonoma County prosecutors said.
James Oliver Unick, of Willows, in Glenn County, was found guilty in February of assaulting and strangling Sarah Geer on May 23, 1982. His sentence carries no possibility of parole.
