The city of Carmel is close to officially adopting a standard street address system, marking the first time since the city’s incorporation in 1916 that it will have a formal, citywide numbering system for houses, businesses and other buildings.
The new system will “go live” as soon as Monterey County gives its final approval, city administrative analyst Emily Garay said in a statement Wednesday.
