StopScams SF: San Francisco unveils program to combat increasingly sophisticated fraud

San Francisco launched the country’s first coordinated, city-led scam prevention and response initiative on Tuesday.

Mayor Daniel Lurie and City Treasurer Jose Cisneros at City Hall announced the initiative, called StopScams SF, which was funded by a three-year, $3 million grant from JPMorganChase. The initiative will include one-on-one financial counseling, scam monitoring and citywide multilingual scam alerts.
