San Jose police again declared an unlawful assembly Sunday night following England’s victory over Mexico in the World Cup, due to the downtown gathering of hundreds of people leading to chaos, even ending with a man getting shot.

In a statement Monday morning, the San Jose Police Department said about 200 to 300 people flooded the area near San Fernando and South Second streets after 10 p.m., following England’s 3-2 win over Mexico in Mexico City to advance to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.
