Alameda County approves $6.7B budget, preserving safety-net services

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a $6.7 billion budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year that prioritizes safety-net programs while addressing growing financial uncertainty tied to potential state and federal funding cuts, county officials announced last week. 

Adopted June 25, the budget includes more than $1.2 billion in contracts with community-based organizations, $288 million for homelessness services through the Measure W Home Together Fund, and $85.3 million for community health centers serving low-income residents, county officials said.
