The City of Foster City will postpone its Fourth of July fireworks show in 2026 as construction continues on the new Foster City Community Center in Leo Ryan Park, city officials announced last week.

City officials said daytime Independence Day events will still take place July 4, including a Rotary Club pancake breakfast, live music, and a Family & Dog Parade.

Activities will end at 4 p.m., several hours before the traditional evening fireworks display over the lagoon.

Ongoing construction is expected to limit available space and prevent the city from safely accommodating large nighttime crowds, city officials said.

This marks the second consecutive year the fireworks show has been canceled due to the project.

The community center remains under construction and is expected to open in summer 2026.
