The Alameda City Council is set to appoint Gerry Beaudin as the city’s next city manager at its April 21 meeting, city officials announced. 

Beaudin, currently the city manager of Pleasanton, is expected to begin his new role on June 30. According to the city council.  

He also serves as executive director of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department joint powers authority, city officials said. 

He brings more than two decades of public management experience, including previous service as Alameda’s assistant city manager from 2019 to 2022, where he oversaw multiple departments and served as interim city manager. 

Beaudin has also held roles as community development director in Pleasanton and zoning administrator in Mountain View, along with planning positions in several cities in California and Canada.
