California Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced $145.4 million in new state homelessness funding, including nearly $54 million for two Bay Area counties, as part of California’s latest effort to move people off the streets and into housing and services.
The funding, distributed through the state’s Homelessness Housing, Assistance and Prevention program, will support local governments statewide, including about $49.9 million for Santa Clara County and nearly $4.1 million for Solano County, according to the Governor’s Office on Wednesday.
