The San Mateo County Board of Education appointed a temporary superintendent at its Wednesday meeting to serve out the remainder of Nancy Magee’s term after she decided to step down early. 

Deputy Superintendent of the Educational Services Division Marco Chavez is now interim superintendent after the Board unanimously approved his appointment.
